Tareq Al-Mozayek

About

I'm Tareq Al-Mozayek, a full-stack engineer based in Damascus, Syria, focused on the frontend. I specialise in React, Next.js and TypeScript, and I also work in Vue, Nuxt, NestJS and Laravel.

Since February 2024 I've built Vue, Nuxt, React and Next.js apps, SEO landing pages and CMS builds for clients at Ejad Solutions, and since 2026 I've built back ends there with NestJS too. As a freelancer I designed Warsha Plus and built its Laravel back end and admin, and I maintain slotsmith, an open-source React component library on npm.

I graduated in Software Engineering from Damascus University in August 2026. I'm available for freelance work: web apps, dashboards, business websites and landing pages, in English and Arabic. Send me a brief →.

Your tests are green, but your UI is broken: understanding JSDOM, Vitest and Playwright

A test can verify one thing and miss what matters to the user. What JSDOM can and can’t prove, how Karma, Vitest Browser Mode and Playwright bring in real browsers, and a layered strategy that matches each test’s environment to the behaviour it checks.

A passing test doesn’t always mean a working UI

JSDOM can find a button and fire its click handler while, on mobile, overflow: hidden has pushed it out of the user’s reach. Why simulated DOM tests and real-browser tests answer different questions, and how Karma and Vitest Browser Mode fit in.

Headless or styled? Why I built a React component library where every part is a slot

Styled libraries fight custom designs; headless ones make you rebuild the same markup on every project. How slotsmith sits between them, with a finished, accessible fallback behind every replaceable part, and what was hard to get right.
